Terry Pratchett's Guards! Guards! Review

What Caught My Attention -
At first I didn't know how I would feel about reading a book redundantly labeled, Guards! Guards! The cover was plain green, yellow and has a strange illustrated small dragon on the cover (NEVER judge a book by it's cover, never). This book was loaned to me by a co-worker of mine, Rob. He informed me to read the dedication page before I started to read the entire book, because it would give me a feel of Terry Pratchett's humor.
                  It did.
Why I Continued Reading -
When I first started reading this novel, I read it with a tone of seriousness. Little did I understand, the small joke in the dedication page, was the humor throughout the book. The reason I didn't take the beginning so seriously for the rest of the book is because, our novel, Zathena and the Sky Pirates had an underlying tone of humor, yet it was very serious. This book, however, after I shortly found out, is layered in humor and non-serious topics which at the same time are serious. My mind plays with the scenes and characters like its a parody of Skyrim. The only reason I think that, is because I've spent so much time in the world of Skyrim that it just brings a smile when I think about having a non-serious character in the Bethesda world.
I mean, it's hard to pick a favorite quote to explain this, but I have one from this novel that can very well sum it all up. -
'"oh, her," Said Vimes gloomily. 'I think I've seen her around. The one with the "Whinny If You Love Dragons" sticker on the back of her carriage?"'
'"That's her. She's mental." said Sergeant Colon.'

This novel was put together so properly, every aspect fit perfectly together. The Dragons were my favorite part. From the swamp dragon babies, to the large terrorizing dragon. This book and these scenes in particular, were so easy to picture, even with the non-seriousness feeling of it. I fell in love with Discworld.

What I Was Left With -
Every time I play Skyrim now, I keep picturing this world. It makes me laugh when I'm attempting to rob from someone in Riften, and end up picturing several scenes from this book.
Look at this place! I can picture everything from the book happening in Riften! It cheers me up. Obviously Riften is SO much smaller then the main city in Guards! Guards! But it is still awesome! The fact that the thieves guild is located in the sewers, amplifies this idea! It also makes me want to play Skyrim and name my character Carrot.

Why I Will Return -
I've already returned. There's this video I found on YouTube, which really makes me laugh. This is by far my favorite book to read when I need a laugh. Now I want a pet Swamp Dragon. I'll never forget reading this book, it was just too awesome!
(will update)
